“ When Big Tech and the broligarchy are gone, entrepreneurs will finally have a chance to build new businesses whose success doesn’t rely on commodifying their users’ attention, monetizing their data, exploiting workers, enshittifying their own products, and degrading the natural environment.”

There’s a lot of reasons for this community to want consequences for the big tech oligarchs that are more than a slap on the wrist. The benefits of holding them to account are not just for environmentalists, social justice activists or rural people against data centers and inflation; the big tech oligarchs have stifled the emergence of new companies and entrepreneurs. That’s something even VC people should want to see changed.

This. They're literally attempting regulatory capture of the GLOBAL market for this stuff. It doesn't get more unfair and against the spirit of free trade and equal opportunity.

At first, I thought this article was a parody. Then I saw the author has a fellowship at the k-school and is a policy person at northeastern.

I suspect that she may have a future role as one of the CCP's apparatchiks...or as an EU functionary.

I have very little hope, given that the DSA is dragging the Democrats around still. I don't see why this pendulum swing won't increase the amplitude of the swing instead of lowering it and us getting to some centrist sanity.
