I really resent pictures of human bodies being presented to me. I made a life decision that I prefer not to see stuff like that unless I actively choose.

You actively chose to click on an article titled "An Arrogant Way of Killing (2016)". Your decision to prefer something is your responsibility to uphold. Sure, there could have been some disclaimer, but frankly, you lamenting this is nothing more than a distraction from the article... dealing with the realities of being presented with dead bodies.

Further, this actually is solvable with tech... write a script to quarantine posts that match a filter list (killing is obviously a candidate), then offshore the curation of the containment to some 3rd worlders to vet any human bodies present. It would be a very fitting exercise for you if not a bit tongue-in-cheek!

Just burn some tokens in a browser & IMAP proxy, scanning for what you don’t want to see and substituting images of clowns or puppies for every undesirable image and rewriting the text to something more anodyne.

Who needs a firewall like the Great Firewall of China when you can now do a MITM rewrite to a more acceptable tone. You could call it The Phantom Edit.

It is a reality however. Just as humans were doing human sacrifices by torturing little kids for as long as possible before killing them.

We have to keep that in mind to shield ourselves from those explaining that "all cultures are equal", "it's all relative", "it depends on your point of view", "all humans are beautiful snowflakes", etc.

Just as a reminder: Israel killed 50 000 people in Gaza... In response to people killing 1200 civilians and bringing hundreds back to their country as hostages, while the entire country was acclaiming the murderers and celebrating their deeds (killing mostly young people who were dancing at a music festival, enjoying life).

In January of this year the iranian regime sent its islamist guards to kill 30 000 peaceful, unarmed, protestors and publicly hung athletes who spoke against the islamic regime.

This is the world we live in and this is what we're up against.

I'd rather see the truth than become soft.

And what was October 7 in response too? Or is that when history began in the Levant? Why are 50,000 Palestinians just numbers but Israelis get to be humanised? Maybe some of those 50,000 were young people enjoying life (the little kids the IDF snipe for fun certainly were). A lot of Israelis are also people acclaiming murderers too funny enough.

Yet more anti-palestinian racism on naked display. One atrocity condemned, the other justified. It only counts when it happens to one side, eh?

And why are you only talking about 'islamic ' regimes? Do crimes only count when they do it? Were the largely Christian Russians not worth mention, or the Buddhists in Myanmar? No, only Muslims. Your prejudice is obvious.

I guess "it's all relative", "it depends on your point of view" for you. Maybe you're softer than you think.

I know a woman who is like that about bare feet, but she doesn't expect the world to indulge her.

This is the TrueCrypt guy. Sometimes it feels like I just missed out on big history. VeraCrypt's license still includes him: https://veracrypt.io/en/VeraCrypt%20License.html

What on earth, man. I remember the name being familiar for software reasons back in the 2000s because a bunch of people were talking about TrueCrypt back then and not trusting anonymous software and this and that. He became a crime boss? This is a revelation for me as big as the ReiserFS situation.

Fun aside, there's a theory that Paul Le Roux is Satoshi Nakamato.
