They've found it at least 4 times in my lifetime, iirc.

Don’t they mean Utnapishtim’s Ark? I think his story had a thousand years on Noah.

In Mesopotamian narratives Utanapishtim is the Flood Hero, tasked by the god Enki to create a giant ship to be called Preserver of Life in preparation for a giant flood that will wipe out all life.

A lot of religious myths where extensions of prior art --- including resurrection.

In mythology, gods were brought back from the dead long before Jesus' disciples found it necessary to play catch up.

Mt Ararat is 16000 ft above sea level. Where did all that water come from and where did it disappear to?

And how did the kangaroos swim from Turkey to Australia?

The water is the normal ocean water.

Plate tectonics, fossilized remains of fish/animals in the desert, and an uneducated population demanding answers from the priest/leadership class explains the rest.

They just made it up. For control.

"God told [the elites], you must obey [the elites], or else."

Evidence: We still tell our children outrageously fraudulent stories with embedded morals in order to alter their behavior.

It's the most likely explanation we have.

In other words, this story is about as logical as flying reindeer. "Magic" is the only way to explain it.

Not as difficult as one might think. Turns out there is an immense amount of water locked up underground in mineral deposits “three times greater than all of Earth's surface oceans combined.”

Unusual tectonic activity may have caused it to release and reabsorb.

Also remote glacial shifts could explain periods of immense flooding. And then there is the Euphrates.

      Or tsunamis.

Lots of evidence of immense floods throughout history.

Apparently the sphinx shows signs that it sat in a rainy jungle once upon a time. Over a long enough time line no one can really say what’s been going on.

Not according to the Bible story.

The water all fell from the sky as rain.

And all of it happened (both the release and the evaporation) within 30 days --- otherwise, the animals would have all died from starvation --- which should have happened anyway because after such a massive flood, all the food sources would have been washed away and covered under mud and silt.

Bottom line: This story is about as logical as flying reindeer.

Oh jeez! Not this crap again.
