Why? The same reason South Africa put on a media blitz during apartheid.

When your country gets worldwide news for atrocities it is committing, leadership in those countries will do anything to change public opinion. (Except stop committing atrocities, I suppose.)

      > Alan Dershowitz opined that criticizing the Israel lobby promoted a charged debate about what constitutes antisemitic conspiracy theorizing.[31] Early drafts of this were sent to Jeffrey Epstein; at the time, Dershowitz was Epstein's lawyer during a child sex trafficking case.

At the same time, the US president is interfering in the elections in Israel.

the more consequential country you are, the more pressure from inside and outside on getting particular government elected. for US that's entire world... Remember Russian bots on Twitter?

It’s more about being manipulable, not consequential. They want a strong position for a president that they can control. It’s just plain good strategy.

Wow, this was unheard of before 2016. This is real, foreign, election interference.

Thanks for the link, I see my mistake now. When I got the red box that said "This post is for paid subscribers." I assumed there was more to follow.
