The problem with that, is acting and pretending are not real life. You can take that line of thinking to mean any movie displaying choking or pretending to show incest should be banned.

Why stop there? They can make new laws where any display of violence or reenactments of crimes in a movie or play should be banned, then say it's about protecting the children, for the win. From there, they can move on to "thought-crime".

They already did that way back in the 1910s. The general trend since queen Victoria has been the exact opposite of:

      > From there, they can move on to "thought-crime".

      -type scenarios.

Fascinating to see how this will be enforced, given that US sites like Reddit carry this, and it's almost impossible to filter it at a per-post level.

Will they just ban adult subreddits for UK users (by which I mean anything with 18+ content of any sort)?

Reddit already hides 18+ content for UK IPs unless you show them your passport.

Might be easier to keep a list of things not banned in the UK.

Keeping such a list is forbidden under the Prohibition of Maintaining a List of Things which are not Banned Act, 2025

Finally after decades of struggle and hot potatoing between parties UK government found a way to fix the country. /s

I guess they should next ban depiction of hanging government officials on a trees and lamp stands. Otherwise population might get some wrong ideas.

Robin Hood movies shall all be banned for sure.
