Wise closed the business accounts of my Delaware LLC and my Polish sole proprietorship. I'm not fighting the closure, I just want the remaining balances back: about 22k USD (LLC, held by Wise US Inc.) and about 3.4k PLN (sole proprietorship, Wise Europe SA).

What happened so far (2026):

- 17 Sep: account closed. Their email: "We've closed your account. We're unable to share the specific reason why we're closing your account."

- 21 Sep: "our decision to close these accounts is final", please send refund bank details. For the LLC they offer a PLN payout to my Polish company account.

- 22 Sep: I send the details. I send them again on 28 Sep, and that day Wise confirms it has "all the details you provided".

- 29 Sep: they have my bank details and nothing more is needed from me.

- 6 Oct: one agent wants a photo ID and a selfie with ID to open an "appeal", and says there's no open complaint.

- 7 Oct: a complaint reference gets created. A different agent writes "There is nothing further needed from you." and that I "should never have been asked to submit an appeal".

- 8 Oct: "The manual balance refunds are being processed directly by our specialist team." Later that day Support says it has "exhausted all of our department options".

- 11 Oct: the Complaints Team partially upholds the complaint and offers compensation for the support failures. About the money: "We are currently still conducting these checks on your remaining funds and are unable to provide an exact timeline for how long they may take."

- 13 Oct: after I chase them a second time, they ask for different payout accounts: a personal account for the LLC (instead of the Polish company account they suggested themselves on 21 Sep) and EUR instead of PLN for the sole proprietorship. Their words: "Once we have your confirmation, we will be able to start processing your refund." I confirm both accounts in writing the same day and ask them to confirm the refunds are being processed.

- 14 Oct: urgent reminder. Five emails since 13 Oct, zero replies.

So: 27 days since the closure, no payout and no date. Today I filed complaints with Ombudsfin (Belgium) and the Delaware Office of the State Bank Commissioner.

Case ID 26303051, complaint refs 50738608 and 50962286.

Has anyone actually gotten money out of a closed Wise business account? How long did the "checks" take once you'd sent the account details they asked for?
