The apparent terrorist was the co-pilot who was Omani, the captain that the terrorist attacked was Indian.
It was an Omani national co-pilot who stabbed his Indian-Emirati captain but was then overpowered by Israeli passengers along with South African and Kiwi backup pilots.
I think he may have just been Indian, I did see some early reports listing him as an Emerati but the more recent reports appear only seem to list him as Indian.
