It seems like an interesting project - I hope that your real interest is the embedded systems design and software, because if your true goal is an efficient path to a new fast drone platform, your README seems to kind of short circuit the trade study for DIYing an RTOS. But, it's going to be a great embedded systems project and you'll learn a lot that's for sure!
