    Is he claiming to plant false evidence, or just that smartphones are a great tool for social manipulation? I would believe both are the case, but it's just that "penetrate" could be ambiguous in the sense that getting propaganda in front of people's eyes could be considered a kind of penetration.

      Theory number one after catching up with some Israeli friends: he is clutching at straws trying to do preemptive damage control about the evidence that is going to come out about him...

      Namely that on top of the documented fact that he turned a blind eye to the funding channels that were strengthening Hamas, because he likes his enemies to be radical non-negotiators, he also was informed about October 7th but decided it would be expedient to let the horror happen as he thought he could use it to strengthen his power.

      Btw. I could not bring myself to watch Fauda season 5.

    Whether this is true or not, I think someone making the claim is good news. People trust digital forensic evidence more than they should. Some FUD is a useful corrective.

            I think you misunderstand what GP is saying. Context, in this context, is the conversation leading up to the statement that gives the statement meaning. You have to use context to understand what is actually being communicated. For all we know, Netanyahu was only saying that devices are insecure, and to drive the point home, said something scary to the interviewer to get them to understand on a personal level (since many people don't really even pay attention unless they think something affects them personally).

            Netanyahu is a monster (I seriously thought he was going to prison any day now back in 2017, what is even happening?) so I assume the worst here. I'd love to see context but I don't owe Netanyahu my personal time tracking it down.

            But context is criticially important. I guess they're not teaching it in school anymore? They taught us this in elementary along with the 5 Ws, which is another loss. And while I'm on the subject, kids don't know how to cite sources anymore. Made up quotes via text as image. Cool citation "bro."

              While it's fair to want more context, the person I was replying to clearly did not watch the video at all, which was what I was addressing. In their first comment they didn't understand that a direct quote was involved. In their second comment they asked where in a 27-second video the quote is.
