Some context for people who haven't been following Ionic: after joining OutSystems, Ionic is winding down its commercial products, including Appflow, Identity Vault, Auth Connect, Secure Storage, and Portals. These products are scheduled to reach end of life at the end of 2027.

Ionic Framework and Capacitor aren't affected and remain open source and are actively maintained by the team. In fact Capacitor is growing faster than ever.

Unlike most shutdowns, this one comes with a migration path: Ionic partnered with Capawesome to move customers over.

For Appflow, there's an export/import flow that lets teams migrate their apps, channels, environments, signing certificates, destinations, and automations without having to rebuild everything from scratch. Teams can also run Appflow and Capawesome in parallel while they make the transition.
