    Sure, just like I would have taken the $5000 DOGE Dividend check, the $2000 tariff dividend check, and the $500 ACA rebate check he promised.

    Trying to buy an election with a promise of illegal payments that nobody expects him to keep is completely on brand. So, sure, if this is the time he slips up and follows through, sure, I’ll take it.

    First off, I find it highly unlikely the Republicans will win the midterms. I fundamentally am opposed to anything that could be interpreted as buying votes.

    i wonder - is there the option for people to take the 5k and then vote against the politicians supported by big T? how exactly is this buying votes plan supposed to work? Or is it: if win then pay scheme? I'm pretty disconnected from that world of grift and don't care to try and decipher raw orange into applied policy, but i do see an avenue for reverse play.

      when even the electoral college being not bound to vote for the party they are chosen to vote for, it should not be a problem to take & to vote differently. But, as always: you'll get your 5k AFTER the election. And if I would be Orange, i would promise 50k+ for each vote for the reps. After the election, in any case, i would say "Yes, i promissed to give 50k+ for each vote for the reps. I dont want that democ-RATS get this money. So you need to prove that you voted for reps. Otherwise no money! no money for those communists!" - but then no one can provide the asked ;)

    Many who run startups and businesses who are cash flow positive or do trading don't need the $5k.

    But anyone who got laid off and ran out of their savings would need that extra $5k more than others.
