    I aslo watched Gods Must be Crazy when I was a kid and that also made me look into it to see if they were real.

    There are three other anthropologists that studied the same bushmen while Marshalls (1950-..) produced massive amount of data. Richard Borshay Lee, Patricia Draper (1963-...) and Marshall Sahlins ( 1966- ...) . Marshall Sahlin came up with the idea that they represented an affluent Society with no domestic wars using Marshall's data. Richard Lee challenged it and observed that they indeed had conflicts and even murders but they tried to manage their conflicts to prevent violence.

    Both Marshalls and Lee's data showed that there was no gender inequality among the two sexes among these tribes.

    Patricia Draper, an associate to Lee, concluded from her studies that unlike bushmen, agricultural societies bred inequalities between sexes due to ownership of property and livestock.

      Sahlin and Lee are quoted in the article. Looks like there were murders but many came from two blood feuds that got out of hand and also overlapped with resettlement and pressure and enslavement by the white and bantus, so its hard to say. Regular violence was rare and denigrated but those poison arrows...

        Yup most likely. Lee named them as egalitarian society as they shared resources and had equal gender roles.. and they can conflict resolution methods and practiced ego suppression using humor..

        Years ago I watched the original Lee's/ Marshall's videos , not sure whose on youtube. If it was being hunter/gatherers aka affluence due to lack of competition that created the given advanced society, may be it will happen with age of Ai or may be not.. one can wonder and hope.
