    Feels like the end of an era. In the past part of what propelled Rust projects into open source success was this subreddit and the broader online community which gave support to projects and helped them grow and keep momentum. Perhaps I'm being too sentimental but I think the confluence of this and communities splintering into different git forges means the end of that golden age of rust in open source.

      It used to be once in awhile someone posts about a neat rust library (that they usually made) plus a bunch of "I did X in rust". Now with AI, its just endless slop that barelly works if it works at all.
