Under-explored in this article is the degree to which pre-NT/95 Microsoft (particularly BillG) was obsessed with NeXT, at least if you believe Steven Sinofsky:

If you're on some X11 (Xorg or whatever else if there's still something else than Xorg) windowing system (say non-Wayland Linux or a BSD), you can definitely get some window manager with themes very close to that.
