    Of course it is your personal preference, but I secretly hoped the "Why C++?" document [1] would also have a subsection "Why not Rust".

      Fair, and it should be there. Short version:

      Rust would have been a reasonable choice and for a lot of people the better one. I went with C++ is specific to me because I've written C++ for a long time. I'll add a "Why not Rust" section to the doc, thanks for pushing on it.
