So it wasn’t really a decision one way or the other, it was a continuation of an existing policy of where names come from.
Complete lack of judgment from whoever made this change happen
Should be a lesson to the dems next term, either extort the tech giants, the mere threat of the government taking action against Google makes them jump on these dumb name changes. Otherwise, get them on their side to change the law to prevent this kind of shit show ever again.
It's pretty clear you could do serious damage to a corporation as the president and get away with it, and that should change.
Here in Canada, no one cares. This 400+ year old name for a lake has not changed, and the tantrum of that pants-shitting worldwide embarrassment changes nothing. As an act of "trolling" -- how Trump's bizarrely stupid cult sees it, cheering on the utter destruction of the nation -- this is akin to shitting your own pants to troll people. Which...I mean...perfect metaphor.
And for America, you should never change it back. You must live with this pox for eternity (basically fReEdOm FrIeS x 10000). For Americans, your education system should forever tell you it is Lake America, and the Gulf of America, and this clownery must hang on you like a scarlet letter. You elected this unbelievably incompetent, corrupt bag of human shit twice, and your government is the government you deserve. Trump is 100% who you all are.
And I completely get why Google changed it. The US has a mad king, with zero checks or balances. If Google didn't change it, at least for Americans, your hyper-corrupt joke of a government would have somehow punished them for not immediately bowing down to your impetuous toddler with the nuclear launch codes.
Man, remember back when the US was a model for the world? Now you're a fucking joke. You have a completely lawless, limitless mad king who utterly hates democracy. And I mean, you're going to really learn that in the midterms. And you'll all go "gosh, wow, so bad" and go back to flushing your country down the toilet.
