Interesting post sharing the author's experiences. Personally I've experienced deeper bliss from meditation than from any sense pleasure, but it is not always reliably accessible in every sit.

When the meditation is deep, during retreats for example, the rapture and bliss in meditation can feel intense than regular meditation at times, because the mind is more sensitive.

But when the mind indulges in worldly sense pleasure, the sensitivity to experience subtle things reduces, and the bliss in meditation becomes hard to experience.

I used to meditate, but I find praying the rosary to be as effective for me.

Happy to know In what way do you think Praying has been helping you?

The rosary is a meditation practice of mystery meditation interleaved with prayers.

        Same benefits as meditation.

I didn't read the article, but I bet the answer is the author meditated.
