Another instance of discovering the obvious. Putting chemical scents into products, and not supposing that what reaches the nose may be physiologically unwanted. Simulating cleanliness with the equivalent of "a coating of paint" (a trick so patent that it was adopted as a religious metaphor) - which around 20 years ago became "adopting the cheapest perfumes to drug a product", so that what once smelled nice became, after the economic crisis that triggered shrinkflation, a cloaca simulator for everyone with an honest nose.

Incidentally: this friend of mine is on the mountains right now. Greenery and clean air as one can get. In the hotel, the staff drenches the rooms with horrendous nubulizations from spray cans. And it is not even the worse they can do: one not far away had staff that filled the rooms with insect killers (correct bodily reactions revealed what was later confirmed). I find it bewildering that humanity lasted so long - in nature, errors are paid sooner.
