Is it addictive? Yes. Like any other gambling activity. Will it succeed? Will it fail? Will generate garbage or give me the Jackpot? It is addictive. A reliable tool that always did the job will be... boring.
If there is an interesting task that I am focus in then I will do it myself. I can still use AI but just as an archived version of Stack Overflow where to get how some little-used feature of the language works. The dynamic completely changes. To ask questions about very simple well documented information is useful but boring. Ask question -> get answer. Not exciting at all, not addictive, but I find that to have all the internet compressed in a query machine (that can also get information from the Internet) is the actual useful part of AI. (And total copyright infringement)
