When I was in high school all the stoners told me there was no such thing as marijuana addiction.

it isnt known as a physically addicting drug, but pyschologically it can be like anything else.

But I will say a chronic cannabis addiction is less likely to be harmful to society than alcohol addiction that we are seeing today. Invariably there will be a societal cost associated with both and you could probably work out what level, or ratio, of addiction of both substances society will tolerate.

Do you have proof of this?

I’ve never been hit by a stoner because they were high

I’ve never been abandoned by a stoner because being high was more important than their children

I’ve never had a stoner so high and out their mind they reach for the most vile, demeaning ways of speaking to me

I’ve never looked into the eyes of loved one who was really high and not been able to recognize them as the person I know.m, but as a Mr Hyde sort of figure.

I’ve never watched family die from a lifetime of smoking weed.

I have experienced all the things with Alcholics.

Of course, you’re probably interested in something much more formal: https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-11660210
