    > Given the state of the technology, it should not surprise that an MIT study found that “95% of organizations are getting zero return” on their GenAI investment.7 In a survey of 318 corporate executives, 96% said that GenAI costs were higher then expected, with 71% percent saying they had little to no control over costs.8 Another survey reported that “84% of companies see 6%+ gross margin erosion due to AI infrastructure costs; 26% report margin impact of 16% or higher.” Because of those challenging results, “67% are actively planning to repatriate AI workloads; another 19% are evaluating.” That same survey found that 80% of companies miss AI forecasted costs by more than 25%, and 24% miss costs by 50% of more.9
