I'd happily pay for news if there were a way to do it without feeding the data collection machine. Physical newspapers have been effectively killed. Physical magazines have been effectively killed.

That means the only way to pay for news is to pay for an online service. But that means that my news-reading (and other habits) are being tracked. As long as that's the case, I'm out.
