Not creating new jobs is a way of cutting jobs since population is growing, and there are fewer opportunities. Everyone seems to be on the "AI is going to eventually take my job, so what makes my skill set valuable in the future that's no AI-replaceable". And no one can even answer this question well because AI's second wave will be robots, and no one has in their head that this is coming or will be disruptive in any meaningful way.
However, I will say, that I am creating more companies lately, because AI is making it very cheap to do so. Will those companies be profitable? Hopefully, but probably not.
