Private as in chats for which the user generated a share link and posted it somewhere online that a search engine's web crawler found, as far as I can tell.

Google is a lot more public than it should be, but there's nothing private about chats with Claude or any other chatbot that isn't running locally. Clickbait / misleading title - these aren’t private chats:

These are publicly shared convos, turning up in search engine results - just like every other publicly available content the search engine had crawled/indexed.

This is the system working as intended / expected

Relying on search engines to "follow the rules" is the wrong approach.
