AI seems to help with tasks that should have been simplified and have accidental complexity, at least that's how I read:

AI usage outside of work appears particularly high for high-friction adminis- trative tasks. These activities include interactions related to government services, legal topics, finance, and education.

Interesting read from Google on AI (Gemini) usage. In particular, I found the usage in the "hands on" aspects - mechanics using AI to help diagnose problems, for instance.
