    I like "everything is public"; I mean, 95% of the DM's I get on various social platforms are something like the guy who wants me to make NFTs of my photos (at my expense) or some large-chested woman who says "Hi!" first thing and doesn't show any sign that they looked at my profile in which case it would be "Hi foxy" or something.

    I respect this in theory, I do like the premise of hosting your own identity in a simple text format. I think Nostr does something similar, and it's definitely a flaw that AT Proto and ActivityPub don't do the same. But in practice it seems so self-selecting that I suspect the only thing anyone talks about in this community is how great emacs and org social are.
