Decided to write this after a discussion with a friend in SaaS, describing the internal pressure to build tools in-house. Mostly because good-enough output was starting to replace established SaaS solutions.
Then I kept running into the other side of it: Klarna, IBM and Commonwealth Bank quietly rehiring people they cut, and Forrester finding 55% of companies that cut staff for AI now regret it.
