    > Debugging a messy system is the worst part of a programmer's job.

How true this is depends on the programmer. I find debugging such systems to be fun.

I also don't watch medical TV shows.

Well, debugging is the only intellectually stimulating part left in my job so I enjoy it, a lot, while it lasts.

To each their own, I guess.

I watched some parts of House MD and I am just a teenager so who knows but I do classify myself somewhat as a programmer(™)

I think that the reasoning is its just good/interesting to know how other domains are doing which I don't have knowledge of. What thing does a doctor do when a case comes and then you see their procedure listing and other things until they finally occur on what is the real reason.

Feels good knowing about different domains of things personally, I think.

A good question worth asking is why a doctor might want to watch a silicon's valley or coding oriented show (yes there's more to it but in general)

Some watch it for the drama and others for the same reason as to how a line of logic works.

If one has to be honest, then its just that because we don't know anything about that domain. we can accept things as is and the logic would present itself so we wouldn't have to think tooo hard about the logic and our brain gets a little dopamine because of it.

Similar to game of thrones which might be debugging a huge political system divided up into multiple factions at this point. Debugging as such might be considered an umbrella term

Hope I am able to answer your query! Take care :-D
