    I wish NATO would step in and annex the Russian region between Ukraine and Kazakhstan. It could become a new country rebuilt from modern standards. And permanently cuts Russian supply lines to the middle east.

    Losing territory is the only thing Putin will see as a loss. That would force him to admit failure.

    Yeah the way Ukraine wins is by destroying Russian logistics. An army with no bullets cannot fight.

      Logistics is one of the most reliable ways to defeat an enemy, always has been and probably always will be. It's why I'm baffled by the insistence on the US military leaving NATO and its NATO allies. The presence of the US military bases in Europe and east Asia are a large part of what allows it to project power globally. Removing the bases (or severely reducing them) would lead to a self-destruction of US logistical capabilities and eliminate or severely hamper its ability to be a global military power (setting aside the remote possibility of using nuclear weapons, which, if used, would lead to many, many more problems even if they initially lead to military success).

    the Russian army had collapsed in 2022 when it lost the bulk of its professional soldiers. the rest of the war had been fought by loosely affiliated conscripts, convicts, and mercenaries.
