VW ranked 16th on the 2026 Consumer Report reliability ranking, has no hybrid models currently available in a market that is currently clamoring for hybrids and poor software that has hampered both their gas and ev models. While I'm sure tariffs have had an affect there are many more self-inflicted wounds causing them issues in the US market. I just purchased a new car on Tuesday and didn't consider a VW because of the reasons stated above which is sad because in the past I have owned a couple of VW cars including my first car a VW Golf.
