Maybe there are just way too many submissions for any one to rise to Home Page fame?
Most YC companies fail in some way. 90% of startups fail. Were those founders not smart? I think the majority are/were, they just were not lucky enough [1] [2] [3]. If your belief system and mental model cannot internalize that the deciding factor is luck over skill, well, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ [4] [5]. Review the data, update your priors and improve the mental model to more closely align to reality.
If you don't like the rules, you are free to start your own forum. As long as it’s their forum, it’s their rules. As a guest, I do not complain about the asks my hosts make of me. It would be impolite. Be polite and respectful when you are a guest in someone else’s home.

I live my life in a way that the world does not cheer on my demise, and my own children do not despise me. But heh, enjoy the magic numbers in the brokerage account. Perspective is important. Be intentional about how you will measure you life. "You can't hurt my feelings, I'm loved."
You could have ignored this post, but here you are commenting about it and posting schadenfreude over it.
It's okay to be a bit jealous of the employees who took that risk and made a fortune.

It’s just money, which is easy to say when you have enough. What would extra millions buy? Certainly not love, nor the respect of good people. A supercar? A house in the Bay? I would still enjoy a coffee, posting here chatting with others, and experiencing life as I do today. More wealth would in no way change my life materially. But to those who win lottery tickets, use your winnings for something that brings you joy.

According to this theory, as a person makes more money, expectations and desires rise in tandem, which results in no permanent gain in happiness.")
We are simply different people, measuring life differently. I’m sure the fanboys can find their way somewhere else if this forum is not serving their fandom to their liking. You are thinking like you when you are commenting about me. I have tried to help you think like me through these comments.
