I have very good memories of each of these machines, though it was really the TI PC I used myself. The DEC Rainbow was a bit pricey for me, but I did have a fair amount of CP/M software, so the idea of having CP/M-80 and DOS on the same machine was attractive. I didn't see the Victor 9000 until much later. I had a brit boss who brought his over from ol' blighty. I never saw it boot because the power supply wasn't universal and he was having a problem finding a US supply that could fit into the box (I think they weren't using standard sized power supplies or maybe there were no standards back that far ago.)

But... my uncle worked for TI and after spending several years with a the 99/4, my dad was ready for a "real" machine. I lived in the D/FW area where TI was based and they were fairly thick on the ground. People were rooting for the home team, I guess.

Thanks for posting this. Good memories from long ago.
