    Seems like a good idea. Many towns and cities lose their character and what made them special when population rises quickly. The same can happen to states or countries I suppose. Otherwise everyone who’s there currently will lose their quality of life.

    Besides that, I understand the motivation for the Swiss is to limit immigration. And that’s probably because of the flood of asylum seekers or illegal immigrants, particularly from North Africa and Middle East. If unaddressed it will hurt existing taxpayers, because services consumed by migrants are funded by them. And it’ll of course affect demographics and culture too.

    But will it hurt their economy? Maybe not, if AI and robotics moves as quickly as everyone is suggesting through the investments into these areas.
