The Australian Gold Nugget Kangaroo coin is the world's largest coin. In October 2011, the Perth Mint created a one metric tonne gold coin, breaking the record for the biggest and most valuable gold coin, previously held by the Royal Canadian Mint, the Big Maple Leaf. The coin is approximately 80 cm (31 in) in diameter and 12 cm (4.7 in) thick. It features a red kangaroo on the front of the coin and a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on the reverse. The face value of the coin is A$1 million, but at the time of minting it was valued at over A$53 million. It is made of 99.99% pure gold.

Here is a link with info about the Canadian coin. It was pretty big in the news when the mint first presented it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Maple_Leaf

This isn't an area of competition I thought I'd ever see.

A couple of interesting stories right there. Firstly, the highly unusual portrait of the Queen on it and also that theft.

About 60 litres if liquid gold. That's 30 2 litre soda bottles for scale. Who needs a banana
