When all the jobs are gone to the ultra rich owners of AI, who pays the taxes to pay the universal income? (be it basic as others have said or high)

The ultra-rich don’t pay taxes now and if they accumulate more power they never will.

Everyone reading this pays a higher proportion of your income in taxes than Musk does. Someone should introduce him to the math showing that if middle class taxes go away he’ll have to pay 10x-100x as much.

...but will still fight for changes to tax law to make sure he never pays into the pot that would fund UBI
