    This is no different than people picking up slang from Reddit and social media that normally isn't used in real conversations.

      Yes and no. The problem is that slang from Reddit and social media is not everywhere, while AI-generated text is: papers, news, social media, reports, institutional documents, technical manuals... Heck, even creative texts or novels.
