In my experience, rich people make just as many bad decisions as poor people, but their wealth tends to protect them from the consequences of their decisions.

I remember the first season of Atlanta.

The main character, Earnest, was told to invest his money. And he explained that he wasn’t in a financial position to do that, because he needs to eat today and not in September - that was how long it would take to see a return on his investment.

He was too broke to invest.

It’s interesting that it’s been years since I watched that show, yet I still remember he said “September.”

“I’m poor, Darius, okay? And poor people don’t have time for investments, because poor people are too busy trying not to be poor. Okay? I need to eat today, not in September.”

The first two seasons are great and GOAT-tier, the next two seasons were a downgrade - in my opinion.
