Some irony here about this 'free upgrade' is that we're seeing a massive shift toward local AI and edge computing, yet the solution for old hardware is to basically strip away all local utility and move everything to the cloud. It feels a little bit like being told your car is too old to drive, but Google will 'fix' it for free by replacing the engine with a very long tow-rope connected to their headquarters. Great for getting from A to B, but you lose a lot of steering capability along the way.
