It’s crazy how expensive everything has gotten. Our trip to the zoo tomorrow for Easter is like $70. Why is everything all of a sudden so out of reach?

I don't disagree generally but I'd also love to do a breakdown of what the costs are / what we get. I think it greatly depends on the product and situation.

I look at the younger folks in my office, their first apartments are nicer, they go out to eat at better places, often.

Things are more expensive, but I also think people have chosen more expensive things.... Six Flags even, their lower price isn't working for them. That has an influence on business choices.

Part of Six Flags problems are the lack of "minor league" amusement parks. Cities like Wichita KS, Denver Co and even Quincy IL had smaller, idiosyncratic amusement parks. Six Flags could look great in comparison, and people could look forward to a trip, Six Flags had the Zambezi Zinger, where Quinsippi Island had a big Ferris wheel.

This is just another aspect of monopolies and centralization of everything in the USA
