What could be more simple than, “Show me the most upvoted stuff on the platform.” Back when I actually used Reddit, that was how I could get an idea of what was extremely popular in areas completely outside of my normal circles.
Increasing filtering pushing more personalized feeds sounds like it would increase the effects of echo chambers and allow them to better steer a user’s interests toward whatever will be more profitable for them.
