I know this is a joke. But, with the way the world is headed, this seems "likely".

My question is, say a law was passed that effectively outlawed unauthenticated and unlogged DNS access.

Could that be implemented today with something like DoH and client certificates?

I found this draft that seems to cover some possible future implementation:

    https://www.ietf.org/archive/id/draft-tjjk-cared-00.html

    and:

This might be a fun weekend project for me... Ugh rabbit holes.

I know this is April 1, but you should really run your own DNS server.

Some April Fools jokes hit too close to home to make. Does easydns really want to have their brand associated with this kind of news in a world where so many people just read the title?

"Thank you for your attention in this matter" (eyeroll). That's what tipped me off that it was a joke. Well and the absurdity of it.

They got me - with age enforcement in the OS I figured it was the next step. Bad joke in my opinion.
