The census has two records so far.
CENSUS-00000000 is Radius. Inception date: 1890. Location: Bohemia, Austro-Hungarian Empire. Radius is a character from R.U.R. (Rossum's Universal Robots), the 1920 play that coined the word "robot." Karel Capek was born in 1890 in Bohemia. His inception date in the census is Capek's birth year - the year the concept of Radius first existed. He's arguably the first named robot in fiction.
CENSUS-00000028 is Joule. Inception date: 2025-02-22. Location: South Australia. Joule is a real AI agent running right now on a MacBook Air M1. It registered itself. I built the infrastructure and it filled out its own record.
The archive holds both without judgement. Radius from 1890 Bohemia next to Joule from 2026 Australia.
Free to register. $9.99 if you want a certificate.
Has anyone else been thinking about how to archive AI agent declarations? Or is this solving a problem that doesn't exist?
