Claude Code shipped several features OpenClaw had first — memory, remote control, /loop, scheduled tasks. The gap is smaller, though some implementations miss the point.

The more interesting development wasn't in the changelog. Anthropic tightened ToS enforcement around using Claude subscriptions with third-party agents, forcing OpenClaw to swap Claude for OpenAI Codex. The architecture stayed. The behavior changed significantly.

Claude Code is catching up on features while simultaneously making its main competitor dumber by cutting off model access.
