Satsgate is an open‑source FastAPI service (hosted + self‑hostable) for monetizing APIs, AI agents, and web backends with Lightning L402 (HTTP 402) paywalls. Your users pay your Lightning Address (LNURL‑pay). Satsgate is non‑custodial and doesn’t require end‑user accounts or KYC.

Hosted pricing is prepaid payment verifications (called credits in the API): 1000 sats → 200 payment verifications (no expiry). Each successful paid unlock consumes 1 verification, regardless of invoice amount. It also includes a ledger, daily usage, and top‑up forecasting, and stays low‑latency (no LLM in the hot path).
