There is something very not right about this story telling way so called science and the modern understanding of “truths” work.

The brain doesn’t do anything like what is described. This insight has more to do with behavior.

The brain stores a holographic memory of every cognitive interaction. The problem is, the minds recall is a cognitive strategy and very different than the actual physical accessibility of memories, and probably different among individuals.

Every sense and experience, even beyond our ability to recall is stored in immersive detail throughout the brain, it is the casual recall or accessibility which is lacking. The very act of cognition stores everything those participating neurons can hear in the brain at the time of their cognition. Every sense (including self awareness) is capture and stored. The problems come by every time the mind touches those memories the mind makes new versions of those cognitions etc. The brain and its memories are not time coded, and their relationships or significance must be inferred, producing more copies, affecting quality and authenticity of recall. Thinking itself varies as a technique of reliability and precision among individuals.

An example of all this may be observed by most by considering that recall is difficult yet once one does “trip over” the memory, those memories may be replayed back with rich sensory impressions beyond voluntary access. At least for those who’s minds can do immersive recall (daydreamers). Context certainly helps “find” memories, yet a whole lot more is stored.

I guess I’m frustrated at the simplistic story telling perspective modern ideas and their audience rely upon. “Brain stores quadruples” is a ridiculous and not possibly true statement. The brain stores in holographic detail beyond awareness. The average ability to recall and correlate may be something different.
