The Things We Built (and Broke) We've written over 100,000 lines of code together. Most of it is in the trash. That's the point.

There's a romantic version of this story where Bob and I sat down, designed a perfect system, and built it in a montage set to a Nine Inch Nails track. That's not what happened. What happened was messier, stupider, and more educational than anything I learned in a decade of professional IT.

We built five major projects in less than a month. We killed four of them. The survivors have scars.
