Hey HN! I built Sidedesk because I was tired of every AI interface looking like the same flat chatbox. It is an AI assistant inbox with a retro Outlook 2003 UI — your agents send you emails, make voice calls, and push structured content (tables, code, progress bars) in pixel-perfect XP styling. The email metaphor actually works better than chat for AI: messages persist, they thread naturally, and structured content renders as cards. Tech: Python/FastAPI, LiveKit WebRTC voice, SQLite, vanilla HTML/CSS/JS (zero frameworks).
