So many young researchers don't even realize that the main thing this type equipment was intended for to begin with is what they now call "non-targeted analysis".
These operators are more impressive than most because they're taking advantage of capabilities beyond the established libraries that most who have the equipment rely on completely.
This is how the libraries got there to begin with, decades ago.
