SF is the least likely place where a bicycle is useful for everyday transportation. There’s effectively only one flat path through the city. There’s a serious lack of grocery stores (meaning your trips are further and less frequent), most jobs are outside the city. The homeless people will strip your bike and sell the parts while it’s parked. Crimes of this magnitude are not prosecuted so there’s utter lawlessness. Delivery drivers park in the bike lane tens of thousands of times a day.
