Submitted title is different from the page (and by the end of the article you realise it isn’t true; the analytics existed, they were just invisible to the author). The real (and more accurate) title is “I Marketed My App for 18 Months Without Knowing If It Worked”.
The gist is if you have an Apple Watch-only app, you don’t have access to the analytics dashboard. Publish an iOS version and it becomes available, even retroactively.
